Keanu Reeves has praised the production team on The Matrix 4 for their ''thoughtful and effective protocols'' that have allowed filming to resume.
The 55-year-old actor, who is set to reprise his role as Neo in the popular sci-fi movie, said he is impressed with the measures the production team have put in place to keep the set safe while not ''interrupting'' the ''rhythm'' of shooting amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Sky News, he said: ''There's some really thoughtful, effective protocols in place.
''And the rhythm of film-making has been not really impacted or interrupted in the sense of filming.
''But that's because of just all the hard work and organisation and again, thoughtfulness that's gone into the protocols.''
The Bill And Ted star added that "showbusiness people are the best" when it comes to getting things "figured out".
"We're scrappy. We know how to get stuff done. We're inventive. We think on our feet. And, you know, that kind of spirit, kindred spirit of just coming together.
"You know, it goes back to like, 'Let's put on a show! We'll get some props, we've got some things, we're going to write!' And that spirit is definitely alive and well on The Matrix."
The latest instalment of The Matrix, which also stars Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity), Jada Pinkett Smith (Niobe) as well as newcomers Priyanka Chopra, Jessica Henwick, Ibarra, Neil Patrick Harris, Toby Onwumere, Brian J. Smith, Eréndira Ibarra, Andrew Caldwell and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, is set to be released in 2022, almost 20 years since its last outing.
Filmmaker Lilly Wachowski recently revealed that The Matrix franchise was "born out of a lot of anger" over her own feelings of ''oppression'' prior to her transition in 2016.
