Gavin & Stacey's Ruth Jones has given fans some hope that she and co-creator and co-star James Corden could write more of the comedy classic.
After the ratings high and cliffhanger ending for the 2019 Christmas Special on BBC One, demand for more of the (mis)adventures of Gavin (Matthew Horne), Stacey (Joanna Paige), Nessa (Jones), Smithy (Corden) and co has reached new heights - but there is nothing in the pipeline at present.
In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph's Stellar magazine about her new novel Us Three, Jones said that she and Corden had tried to write during lockdown but to no avail.

"James and I did Zoom a few times," she recounted. "But we didn't do any writing. In fact, I remember us both saying how uncreative we both felt."
"And since then we've not even mentioned work, just talked about the family and how we're feeling," Jones continued. "It does seem like a waste doesn't it, not to have spent all those lockdown hours writing? But I just couldn't get into the groove."
However, Jones added that she is now feeling inspired again - and looking to work on new writing with Corden.
"It may not be Gavin & Stacey, but it'll be something," she said.
Us Three will be published on September 3 by Bantam Press.
