Alicia Keys is set to produce a romantic comedy film for streaming service Netflix starring Christina Milian and Jay Pharaoh.

The Grammy award-winning artist will produce the film alongside Maggia Malina and Jeremy Kipp Walker, while Steven Tsuchida (Younger, Dear White People) will helm the project, with screenwriters Dana Schmalenburg and Rheerqrheeq Chainey penning the script, according to Deadline.

The US entertainment website revealed details about the plot explaining how the story focuses on "an aspiring pop star, Erica (Christina Milian), who ends up as the entertainment at the wedding of her ex-fiance (Jay Pharaoh) after reluctantly taking a gig at a luxurious island resort while in the wake of a music career meltdown". Filming will take place in Mauritius.

The 39-year-old Fallin' hitmaker recently collaborated with Netflix by producing dance comedy Work It.

The film stars Sabrina Carpenter as an awkward teenager who forms a team of "bold and fearless misfits" to compete against the high school's dance team that rejected her in the national dance championship.
