Zac Efron is lined up to star in a remake of Three Men and a Baby, the 1987 comedy which saw three men struggle to raise a new arrival.

The new version is being made by Disney and will be directed by Gordon Grey, who made the Ben Affleck drama The Way Back, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The remake is intended for Disney+. The original movie was a remake of a French movie and saw Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson aa a trio of New York bachelors who are left - quite literally - holding the baby.

The late Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy directed the original and it became a box office hit which spawned the 1990 sequel Three Men and a Little Lady.

The remake will mark Efron's return to Disney, following his big break in the High School Musical movies over a decade ago.
