On this week's episode, Ian shares with Laura and Emma what happened on the day that changed his life forever: ''My front wheel hit the log and I went over the handlebars. I heard a crack in my neck and knew straight away that something was wrong.''

When the paramedics arrived Ian explains to the girls that he knew it was serious when "one of them looked over at his colleague and nodded his head".

However, Ian is determined to get as much out of life as possible and tells Laura and Emma that "We all have motivation, we just have to dig deep enough to find it.

"You can either curl up in a ball and do nothing or get on with life. I think I'm accomplishing more after my accident than I would have my whole life before my accident.''
