RTÉ 2fm's Emma Power and Laura Fox are back with another episode of their podcast Unlocked, this week's guest is TikTok star Lauren Whelan.

18-year-old Lauren, who has amassed over 290k followers on the social media app, was one of many students who missed out on sitting the Leaving Certificate this year.

She chats about how stressful it has been and how she missed out on the proper sixth year experience. 

Lauren also talks about her rise to fame on the video-sharing social media service, how she handles trolls, and her thoughts on kids using the popular app. 

In the candid conversation, Lauren said: "Anytime I see hate on my account, I realise that it might be someone who's insecure and might have their own issues. I ignore and don’t give them a reaction."

She added: "People will say immature things but I think people do grow and I don't think they should be held accountable if they are at a young age."
