The BBC has announced that filming has begun on the tenth series of its police comedy-drama Death in Paradise with "a detailed Covid-19 protocol policy" in place.
The broadcaster says filming on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe involves "social distancing, face coverings and temperature and Covid-19 testing to minimise any risk of infection".
"There is also a full-time Covid-19 Supervisor on set to make sure the protocols are being implemented correctly and the latest guidance is incorporated into the policy," it adds.
"The health and safety of our cast and crew is paramount and production is working in line with the Guadeloupe advice as well as the industry guidelines."
Season ten of the hit show sees Ralf Little back as D.I. Neville Parker alongside Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Tobi Bakare as D.S. JP Hooper and Elizabeth Bourgine as Mayor Catherine Bordey. But it has been announced that Shyko Amos and Aude Legastelois-Bidé will not be back as Officer Ruby Patterson and D.S. Madeleine Dumas respectively.
There is a surprise return to the cast - Josephine Jobert is reprising her role as D.S. Florence Cassell.

We’re delighted to welcome back @Josie_official as D.S Florence Cassell and introduce @TahjDMiles as a young troublemaker who pushes JP to his limits - Marlon Pryce! #DeathInParadise pic.twitter.com/DjGNVGWXxg
"Florence thinks she's ready to get back to work after her fiancé’s death two years ago - but she hasn't banked on her new boss, Neville," teases the BBC. "As she tries to understand his peculiarities, sparks are bound to fly..."
Fans will also see a new face on the fictional island of Saint Marie with Tahj Miles playing petty criminal Marlon Pryce, "a ball of energy" who "thinks he knows it all".
A transmission date for season ten of Death in Paradise has yet to be announced.
