Two and a Half Men star Conchata Ferrell has been moved to a long-term care facility where she's on a respirator after suffering a heart attack.
The 77-year-old actress - who played outspoken housekeeper Berta on the record-breaking US sitcom featuring Jon Cryer, Charlie Sheen (later replaced Ashton Kutcher) and Angus T Jones as the eponymous men - has been battling health issues since last year.
She was hospitalised in December as a consequence of having a life-threatening kidney and blood infection.
Now TMZ has reported that Conchata suffered a cardiac arrested during a four-week stay at a hospital intensive care unit.
Her husband Arnie Anderson confirmed that she had been moved from her home to the facility.
He told TMZ: "It's going to be a while before there's any recovery. It's all neurological. There's nothing we can do to speed it up the process. We are hoping for the best."
The actress is receiving treatment in the respiratory unit of the centre but despite reported as being "stable and semi-conscious" she cannot speak and is only "semi-aware" of her surroundings.
Arnie cannot visit his wife due to ongoing coronavirus safety precautions but he speaks to her nurse daily.
According to TMZ, Conchata had been enjoying time at her vacation home in Charleston, West Virginia in December when she began to feel "weak and frail".
It was then determined that she was suffering from a kidney infection that later started to spread, beginning to contaminate her blood.
Doctors kept her in the ICU for several weeks before she was released into transitional care in January.
Ferrell had been bedridden at home, despite the application of physical therapy several times a day.
