During the first phase of restrictions, Dave Kelly found his reports detailed far too many cancellations or postponements of sporting events. Happily, sport that actually happens is working its way back into Irish life and Dave brings us all the latest developments.
"When it came to working at home at first I was a little unsure logistically how it would work but I soon got the hang of it, with a lot of help from those back at base.
"In the first weeks a lot of sports reports concerned the cancellation or postponing of events. We then had to be somewhat creative in coming up with feature pieces with various sporting personalities.
"I am a keen golfer and due to the restrictions, I was unable to play until recently. I took the time away from the course to finally get around to some much-needed golf lessons at my local driving range. Hopefully I will see the benefit of those lessons over the coming weeks and months.

"Like a number of my colleagues I was scheduled to cover the Tokyo Olympics this summer. I have never been to an Olympic games before and it's always been an ambition to do so. A lot of the Irish athletes I've met are taking a positive attitude regarding the postponement. They feel the extra year of preparation can work to their advantage.
"I got plenty of exercise walking our dog Charlie. Like a lot of dogs, I'd Imagine he got a lot more walks than normal but he didn't seem to mind.
"We've had him for just over one year at this stage and he has become a hugely welcome addition to the household. I grew up in Bray, County Wicklow, I'm now living in Balbriggan, County Dublin, so it's great to be back beside the sea.
"My wife Helen is also working from home so I think Charlie got very used to having us both around a lot more than normal.
"I am a big fan of sports documentaries and like so many others I was hugely impressed by The Last Dance on Netflix. Other than his stature as probably basketball's greatest ever player, I knew little about Michael Jordan beforehand, which added to my enjoyment of the series.

"I'm also a huge fan of the 30 for 30 series of documentaries. Again, some of the most enjoyable ones are stories that I'm not overly familiar with. It's also been great to relive some of the great days in Irish sport in the archive programmes running on RTÉ.
"Apart from sport, the last few months have given me more time to enjoy music. I think I've got a pretty eclectic taste, everything from AC/DC to Frank Sinatra, and plenty in between. I find YouTube is a fantastic resource for indulging my passion for Music. So much available so quickly."
