Demi Moore is to star opposite Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Craig Robinson, Richard Jewell's Paul Walter Hauser and Fargo's Peter Stormare in a pandemic-themed thriller called Songbird.
US entertainment trade website Deadline, which first reported the actors' casting, says Songbird will use Covid-19 social distancing protocols and "innovative techniques" so that filming can begin in Los Angeles immediately.
Directed and co-written by horror-thriller filmmaker Adam Mason, Songbird is set two years in the future as the virus continues to mutate and lockdowns have been re-introduced.
An essential worker with "a rare immunity" is trying to be reunited with the woman he loves and must "overcome martial law, murderous vigilantes and a powerful, well connected family, helmed by a matriarch (played by Moore) who will stop at nothing to protect her family and maintain her way of life".
Songbird is described as being reminiscent of Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield .
