Will Smith has described his divorce from his first wife as his "ultimate failure" and the "worst thing in my adult life".

The 51-year-old actor married Sheree Zampino in 1992 before divorcing her three years later. The former couple share a son, Trey.

In a Red Table Talk clip released ahead of Father's Day, Pinkett Smith, Will's current wife of 23 years, raises an idea that her husband has reflected on over the years, according to which "just because a man might not be the best husband does not mean [he's not a good father]".

"I've been hurt a lot in my adult life but I don’t think anything touches the failure of getting divorced from my two-year-old son’s mother."
