Vera Lynn, the British Forces' Sweetheart whose songs helped raise morale in World War Two, has died aged 103.
The singer's family confirmed she passed away on Thursday morning surrounded by her close relatives.
"The family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of Britain's best-loved entertainers at the age of 103," a statement said.

They added: "Dame Vera Lynn, who lived in Ditchling, East Sussex, passed away earlier today, surrounded by her close family. Further information regarding a memorial service will be announced at a later date."
Lynn was best known for performing for British troops during World War Two in countries including India and Burma.
On his 78th birthday, Paul McCartney paid tribute to Vera Lynn, saying he was "so glad" to have experienced her "warm, fun-loving personality"
The former Beatle wrote on Twitter: "Dame Vera Lynn was a strong and inspiring lady who has done so much for Britain.
"I am so sad to hear of her passing but at the same time so glad to have met her and experienced first-hand her warm, fun-loving personality. Her voice will sing in my heart forever. Thanks Vera."
