Watch an Irish exclusive, behind-the-scenes clip, from Pete Davidson's new comedy The King of Staten Island.

The Saturday Night Live star takes centre stage in The King of Staten Island, a brand new film being released straight to digital platforms on Friday.

In the movie which is based loosely on Davidson’s life, he plays Scott, an aspiring tattoo artist who is drifting through life after his firefighter father dies in the line of duty.

Marisa Tomei stars as Scott’s mother, while comedian Bill Burr plays his potential love interest.

In this special behind-the-scenes clip, we get a chance to look at who exactly Pete is. Director Judd Apatow, alongside the stars of the movie, talk about the comedian, what it’s like working with him and why they decided to tell this story.

"Pete is someone that people are very interested in," says Apatow in the clip.

"The King of Staten Island is an opportunity for Pete to tell you about himself, and to tell you about his feelings and his journey."

The King of Staten Island is available to rent online from Friday, June 12, from Sky Store, Apple TV, Google Play and other digital retailers.
