Jeremy Irons was one of Ryan Tubridy's guests on last night's Late Late Show - and when he was asked about The Lion King remake, he got quite an answer.
Irons voiced the character of the evil Scar, Simba's uncle and Mufasa's younger brother, in the Disney animated classic.
Originally first-in-line to Mufasa's throne until he is suddenly replaced by Simba, Scar decides to lead an army of hyenas in his plot to take the throne by killing Mufasa and exiling Simba, ultimately blaming his brother's death on his nephew.
Ryan asked Jeremy if he’d seen the 2019 live action version, where Chiwetel Ejiofor played the role of Scar. He replied: "I was invited.
"But it’s like being invited to the wedding of your ex-wife. You think: 'I wish you well, but I don’t want to be there.’"
