Coronation Street star Shona Ramsey, played by Julia Goulding, is set to return to Weatherfield but she is still suffering from memory loss.
Shona found herself in a coma after being shot on Christmas Day as Derek Milligan went on a drunken rampage around the cobbles.
Speaking about why she decides to go to the Platts upon her return, Goulding says: "Sarah comes to visit her in her rehab centre and without the history there, Shona really connects to Sarah's plight.
"Shona can see how genuinely upset Sarah is about the way that David is behaving. Shona’s essence is still there; she is still a kind person and wants to help people so she agrees with Sarah that she will go back and see if anything jogs her memory."
David Platt was left heartbroken when his wife failed to recognise him, but it looks like there is a glimmer of hope when she remembers where the tea bags are kept.
"It is hard to say because a lot of people keep their tea bags above the kettle, I do myself at home, so there is that glimmer of hope but also I think everybody is in a position where the reality of the situation is that it might just be a coincidence. It’s exciting but let’s not get too excited just yet," she added.
Coronation Street airs on Virgin Media One and ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
