He plays Celtic shirt-wearing philosopher Billy "Buzz" McDonnell on hit RTÉ2 show The Hardy Bucks and now Owen Colgan is launching his very own chat show on the RTÉ Player.
Owen Colgan Around the Fire (well, a two-bar heater with fake plastic logs) begins on the Player today and sees the actor - and Eddie Durkan's best friend - invite guests to join him to tackle the big issues, from sex to the climate crisis.
A new three-part series will feature a mix of chat, laughs and sketches, while the unconventional questions come thick and fast, as the conversation always veers wildly off-topic.
Speaking about the launch of his snazzy new series, Owen said: "Have they offered me Tubridy's job? No. But do check this out if you can."
In episode one, Owen has invited social media superstar and food entrepreneur James Kavanagh to discuss the topic: Sex - Is It All It’s Cracked Up To Be?.
Owen’s having trouble with his new relationship and maybe James is just the man to help.
Then in episode two, Young Offenders star Demi Isaac Oviawe talks Climate Crisis.
And in episode three, we learn that Owen and professional dancer Karen Byrne have a shared loved of robots. They also discuss the future of virtual reality mass, and Owen tries out for Dancing With The Stars.
Other comedy shows currently available on RTÉ Player are Your One Nikita (featuring Aoife Dooley and Emmet Kirwan) and Talking it Out (with David Coffey and Kevin McGahern).
More new Player originals will be announced in the coming weeks.
