It is reported that former Coronation Street favourite Kym Marsh is joining the cast of the BBC's lottery drama The Syndicate for its fourth season.

The Sun says the fourth season, which follows the fortunes of a group of workers at a dog kennel in Leeds, will begin filming in the UK and Las Vegas later this year.

An unnamed source said Marsh's casting would "be viewed as a prestigious first step to carving out a new chapter in her career after leaving Corrie".

Marsh, who played Michelle Connor in Coronation Street for 13 years, left the ITV soap in January to "explore other roles".
