Daniel Craig dreamed of being Superman or Spider-Man as a child, but never of being James Bond.
The actor, who will play 007 for the final time in No Time To Die, which will be released later this year having been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, said it is "ironic" he ended up in the role.
"People are always saying to me, 'You must have dreamed of playing James Bond when you were a kid.' The answer is no. I never did," Craig told Saga magazine.
"I dreamed of being all sorts of other things - Superman, Spider-Man, the Invisible Man, even a good old-fashioned cowboy.
"But Bond not so much, which seems ironic now."
He added, "I've been lucky enough to land one of the best roles in movies. There's been no downside to playing Bond."
