Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher is set to direct a reboot movie of the classic spy series The Saint.
According to Variety, the film could pave the way for a franchise for Simon Templar, originally created in a series of books by Leslie Charteris, and then a hit TV series in the 1960s starring Roger Moore and later with Ian Ogilvy in the lead role in Return of the Saint from 1978 to 1979.
Fletcher, best known for Elton John biopic Rocketman, will be working from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith, writer of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and who's also writing the new Beetlejuice movie.
It's not the first time that The Saint has been brought to the big screen. Philip Noyce directed a 1997 movie starring Val Kilmer as Templar, which was a flop both critically and commercially.
It has not yet been announced who is playing the lead in the latest reboot.
