Ian 'H' Watkins and Matt Evers have become the latest couple to get eliminated from Dancing On Ice.

The pair were sent packing after losing out in a Sunday night skate-off against Ben Hanlin and Carlotta Edwards.

As he was eliminated, Watkins praised the show for having its first same sex couple. "Thank you to ITV for championing visibility and acceptance and diversity," he said.

The former Steps star added: "I'd like to say as well, Strictly, it's your turn next."

Earlier in the show, co-presenter Phillip Schofield was applauded for his courage in coming out as gay.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield

The 57-year-old came out on This Morning during the week, speaking publicly about his sexuality for the first time in an emotional on-air chat with co-host Holly Willoughby.

When he returned to the screen on Sunday for the ice-skating competition, judge Ashley Banjo called him "a legend".

Willoughby, who also co-hosts Dancing On Ice with Schofield, patted his back as the panel applauded.
