Laughter in the Eyre - Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway, 10.30pm, RTÉ 2
Presented by Karl Spain and Anna Clifford, this one-off show captures the magic and colour of Galway's Laughter in the Eyre.
The carnival is now Ireland's biggest comedy festival. Held annually in the last week of October, the city of the tribes sees over 100 comedians entertaining locals and visitors alike.
This special features top comics such as Andrew Maxwell, Reginald D Hunter, Terry Alderton, Jo Caulfield and Seann Walsh, plus lots of newer faces showcasing their talent.

In this first episode of a new series, Oscar-nominated British director Sam Mendes talks to Edith Bowman about the films that have influenced his life and career.
His choices range from late 20th century classics such as Blue Velvet, Taxi Driver and The Godfather II to contemporary masterpieces, including Lost In Translation.
Mendes also provides insights into the making of his most recent film, 1917, and reflects on his early introduction to cinema, as well as his aspirations for the future.
