Bruce Springsteen and wife Patti Scialfa looked on proudly as their 26-year-old son Sam was invested into Jersey City's Fire Department on Tuesday.

Sam Springsteen and 14 other new officers were officially sworn in at City Hall, bringing the Jersey City Fire Department’s total to an all-time high of 666 firefighters.

CBS News reports that Sam took a civil service exam in 2017 and graduated from the Monmouth County Fire Academy in 2014 and served as a volunteer firefighter at three different stations.

He is the youngest of Bruce Springsteen’s three children with wife Patti Scialfa. None of their offspring have followed their parents into show business.

"It was a long road, he’s very dedicated, quite a few years and we are just excited for him today," said Bruce.

When asked about all the training he went through, Sam told CBS2 News it wasn’t easy.
