Medical drama New Amsterdam has been renewed for three more seasons, after the show, which is more touchy-feely than ER and grittier than Grey's Anatomy, won over audiences worldwide.

Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman, Jocko Sims, with Tyler Labine and Anupam Kher all star in this series, which first aired at the end of 2018.
The programme is in its third series in the US and has been slammed by critics but loved by viewers.
New Amsterdam returns on RTÉ2 on Wednesday January 15 at 10:50pm and is also available on the RTÉ Player.
