Colin Farrell received an unusual shout-out at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills on Sunday night when award-winning Chernobyl star Stellan Skarsgård made reference to the Irish actor's eyebrows.

While receiving his award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, Skarsgård said: "I should, though, thank one person, and that is... [Director] Milos Forman said to me a couple of years ago, 'Stellan, I've seen so many films with you, but I never remember your face!'"

"And I realised it was because I don't have any eyebrows!" the Swedish actor continued. "Nobody can tell if I'm angry or surprised. It's not like Colin Farrell - you can tell if he's angry 20 miles away!"

"So for this film, [makeup designer] Daniel Parker made a couple of eyebrows for me and..."

Skarsgård then held his Golden Globe aloft before walking offstage.

The Golden Globes are on RTÉ2 tonight from 9:00pm.
