The award-winning Kylemore Abbey will feature tonight in a brand new RTÉ One documentary series Great Irish Interiors.
Kylemore Abbey and its Victorian Walled Garden form one of Ireland's best-loved and most iconic tourist destinations and has been home to the Benedictine order of nuns since 1920.
The documentary follows the challenging restoration of period rooms at Kylemore Abbey as part of a multi-million-euro restoration and development project designed to breathe new life into the building.
"Kylemore is such an iconic visitor experience", says Abbey Manager and past pupil Eithne O'Halloran.
"We needed to be true to Mitchel Henry’s original vision and recreate this as authentically as possible while seeking out innovative ways to merge classic Victorian with a modern digital experience to fully engage and delight our future visitors."
Eithne and Historic Interiors Consultant Joanne Smyth go on journey of discovery set against a tight deadline to bring the full exhibition to a conclusion in time for their looming launch date during an increasingly busy summer season.
