Jodie Whittaker has spoken about a terrifying experience when she could have died while filming an episode of Doctor Who.
Talking on The Graham Norton Show, which is broadcast on BBC One tonight (Friday) and tomorrow on Virgin Media One, she explained that she encountered a sac spider - which is extremely poisonous - while filming in South Africa.
"Unbeknownst to me, the crew was filming a huge sac spider, and no one told me how terrifying and dangerous it was, and it crawled down my face and inside my costume," she told Graham.
"I absolutely bricked it and can't repeat what I said," she added. "I found out after that I could have died! It was horrific."

As for the upcoming new run of the legendary sci-fi show, where Whittaker plays the 13th titular Time Lord, she says: "I can’t tell you much, but it’s very ambitious and kicks off with a two-parter, with the first part on New Year’s Day [on BBC One].
"It is really exciting and it’s great to have the team back together. I can also tell you that Stephen Fry and Lenny Henry are part of the ensemble.
"With the show, everything is a secret - so you’re getting nothing else!"
