The 34-year-old sports star said of his time in the jungle: "I've learnt a lot about myself and realised I enjoyed helping other people.
"In sport you go to some dark places, there's a bit of suffering so I was equipped to deal with those things whereas other people weren't so I found a role."
When asked who he wanted to take he jungle crown, he backed former Eastenders star Jacqueline Jossa.

Following his elimination, Haskell's official Twitter account tweeted: "It's been an emotional rollercoaster but Hask has left the jungle.
"Thank you all for your continued support - this leg-end will appreciate it... once he’s consumed his first 4000 calories (and then some!)"
Haskell was the fourth person to leave, following Cliff Parisi, Adele Roberts and Andrew Maxwell.
I'm a Celebrity airs nightly at 9pm on Virgin Media One and ITV.
