It has been confirmed that Can't Stop Dancing, the behind-the-scenes spin-off show for RTÉ One's Dancing with the Stars, will not be back in January.

RTÉ has confirmed that the Bláthnaid Treacy-hosted programme would not return for a fourth season.

"Series four of Dancing with the Stars will return to RTÉ One in January 2020," read the statement.

"However the backstage show Can't Stop Dancing will not return for 2020.

"RTÉ social will cover even more backstage antics with the effervescent James Patrice at the helm. We look forward to unveiling the new celebrities and bringing another glittertastic series to viewers screens in January."

Writing on Instagram, presenter Treacy said: "I'm sad to say that "Can't Stop Dancing" won't be returning to our screens this year due to tight budgets. I've honestly loved every moment of working on Dancing With The Stars. The last three years have been amazing and I met so many wonderful people along the way, from the celebrities, crews, producers, dancers, presenters, judges to my amazing glam squad, thanks for everything guys and break a leg on season 4!"

She added: "Special shout out to my producers @alextvmaker and @lylalou who put everything into the show, and to @dalalice and Laura Brennan for all your hard work, it was a pleasure to work with you all. Thank you @shinawillarry for the incredible opportunity."
