Jeff Goldblum has described his new collaboration with Miley Cyrus on their cover of The Thrill is Gone as "surreal" and "perfect".

The unlikely duo's single is released this Friday on Decca after years of Goldblum covering the song live with his band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.

"Hearing the one and only Miley Cyrus sing one of our arrangements is both surreal and mesmerising," said the musician and actor. "I can't stop listening. It's perfect."

The Thrill is Gone features on Goldblum's new album, I Shouldn't Be Telling You This, which is also out on Friday and includes collaborations with singer-songwriters Sharon Van Etten and Anna Calvi.
