Watch: Final trailer clip for Doctor Sleep released

The final trailer of The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep has been released and it finds Ewan McGregor battling with alcoholism and his own waning "shining" powers as lead character Danny Torrance.

Directed by Mike Flanagan, who previously adapted King's book, Gerald’s Game, the movie is in Irish cinemas on October 30, and catches up with Torrance as he drifts from town to town

When he quits drinking, his powers return and he begins to communicate with a child named Abra , who is played by newcomer Kyliegh Curran.

King famously hated the ending of Stanley Kubrick’s celebrated 1980 movie version of The Shining after the director left the Overlook Hotel still standing, contrary to the novel’s original denouement, which saw the Overlook exploding taking Jack Torrance with it.

King later turned his book into a TV miniseries.
