R.E.M. continue their re-release schedule with a 25th anniversary re-issue of their 1994 album Monster, which will include a six-disc box set featuring unheard demos, a previously unreleased live concert, and a Blu-ray Road Movie film.

The re-issue will also include a remixed version of the album by original producer Scott Litt and the re-release has already been trailed by a 2019 remix of Monster's debut single What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?
The grungy, amped-up Monster was considered a return to rock after R.E.M.’s previous two albums, the semi-acoustic Automatic for The People and the orchestral pop of Out of Time.

The album went on to sell nine million copies worldwide and also marked R.E.M.s return to touring for the first time in six years. However, the Monster tour was bedeviled by health problems, including drummer Bill Berry suffering a brain aneurysm.

The band headlined Slane Castle in 1995 with Oasis among the support acts.
The new box set and a two LP vinyl edition are both released on November 1 on Craft Recordings.
