There's drama ahead on Fair City when Melanie gives Paul a reality check about Ruth.
Coming up in Tuesday's episode, Melanie is taken aback when she receives a phonecall from Ruth, in floods of tears, from boarding school.
"I've just spent the last ten minutes on the landline trying to calm her down," Melanie tells Paul.
"And is she ok now?", he asks.
"She was balling her eyes out, Melanie continues.
"Yeah, well you know how it is the first few days of a new school," Paul says by way of an explanation.
"Well, she asked for you," Melanie counters.
"But hold on, if I go running down there she's never going to settle," Paul protests.
"She's too young for boarding school Paul", Melanie argues. "I held my tongue because I had to, but it's wrong."
"Was she really crying?," Paul questions.
"The poor child was so upset she could barely speak", Melanie says. "She just wanted her dad."
Paul lets out a sigh and is visibly unsettled by Melanie's revelation.
