Hilary Duff has said she is "beyond excited" to be reprising her role as Lizzie McGuire for a new Disney+ series.
When the world first met Lizzie McGuire in the original Disney Channel show she was 13-years-old.
The sequel will pick up with the much-loved character as a 30-year-old, working her dream job as an apprentice decorator in New York City, while dating a perfect man.
Duff took to Instagram to share her excitement at the news, posting a compilation video from the show and writing: "I've been trying to contain this excitement for a long time while this has been in the works!
"I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl."
The original series ran for two seasons between 2001 and 2004, and followed the life of a 13-year-old girl who dreamed of being popular at school.
The reboot will screen on the forthcoming Disney+ streaming service, due to launch in the US on November 12. It already has a huge back catalogue of its own films and Marvel Studios'.
