Coronation Street star James Burrows, who plays Ali Neeson on the ITV soap, has revealed that he and partner Sophie Coates are engaged.
Burrows shared the couple's happy news on Instagram, writing: "So at the weekend I asked my best friend to be my wife on a boat in the middle of the lake and she said yes and it's made me one very happy man #lakedistrict#engaged #happy."
On her Instagram, Coates wrote: "I said yes! Not really, I said "are you joking" about 17 times and then I said yes."
The couple's daughter, Betty Florence, was born in May.
Coronation Street airs on Virgin Media One and ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
