Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer is among those set to take part in the US version of Dancing with the Stars, with host Tom Bergeron joking that the Irish-American "will be in charge of assessing audience size" following his work with US President Donald Trump.

Spicer laughed off the dig when he joined his fellow Dancing with the Stars contestants for the big reveal on Good Morning America on Wednesday. He tweeted that it was "time to have some fun".

Spicer will be joined on the ABC show by another Irish-American contestant, actress Kate Flannery - best known for her role as Meredith in The Office.
