RTÉ News broadcaster Caitriona Perry has announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl.
The presenter revealed the happy news on social media, posting a picture of a pink card on Instagram, accompanied by a sweet post thanking viewers and hospital staff.
"A new chapter begins!" she wrote.
"Thanks to all for the well wishes on the birth of my beautiful baby girl and thanks to the midwives, doctors and nurses for the excellent care.
"Thanks too to the thoughtful @rtenews viewers who have been asking about me and the #newarrival."
The news anchor confirmed that she was expecting in January after viewers of the Six One news got in touch.
She wrote on Twitter: "To all the eagle-eyed @rtenews #SixOne viewers who have been in touch...you are correct!
"I am expecting some 'news' of my own later this year."

Perry's Six One co-presenter Keelin Shanley was among those offering their congratulations, tweeting: "We're all delighted Caitriona - v exciting."

Perry returned to Ireland from her post as the RTÉ News Washington Correspondent last year.
She has presented the Six One alongside Shanley since January 2018.
