TV star vet Noel Fitzpatrick has trapped himself inside of a cage to highlight the conditions that puppies from puppy farms for his new Channel 4 TV series Animal Rescue Live.
In the new series the 51-year-old Laois born vet explores the "silent crisis" in the puppy trade and sits in a cage in a van to show the hot and confined conditions when puppies are transported across Britain.
There are pushes in Britain's parliament to introduce Lucy's Law to ban the sale of puppies and kittens from third parties in Spring 2020 which The Supervet is backing.
"No one should be brought into the world in this way, without love and without certainty, with more care for the profit and not the pup." He continued.
"I want to show everyone this terrible journey from their eyes, travelling and experiencing the conditions and fears a young puppy would face.
The more people know about this reality, the more we can work together to stop puppy farming forever." He said.
Animal Rescue Live airs on Channel 4 in August.
