Modern Family star Sarah Hyland has announced her engagement to US Bachelorette alum Wells Adams, after nearly 2 years of dating.
28-year-old Hyland, who plays Hayley Dunphy on the hit comedy show, shared the couple's happy news on Instagram, writing: "That can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff."
Adams also took to social media and tweeted a video of the moment he got down on one knee. In an apparent reference to Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter, Adams captioned the post: "I'll be Johnny, you be June. But forever."
The couple famously met on social media and have been dating since September 2017.
"He slid into my DMs," Hyland revealed in 2018. "[He told me] 'Next time I'm in LA, I'm taking you out for drinks and tacos'."

"I love tacos. He loves tacos, so that was his thing. Like, 'I love tacos, let's see if she loves tacos.' We both love tacos! We have an obsession with tacos. Tacos and tequila, that’s our thing."
Hyland has starred in Modern Family since it debuted in 2009. At the end of the last season, her character Hayley gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
While the much-loved show has been renewed for an eleventh season, it has been confirmed this will be the final one.
