A new Western filmed in Connemara is to open in cinemas next month.

Never Grow Old stars Emile Hirsch, John Cusack, Antonia Campbell-Hughes and Déborah François and will be in cinemas from Friday, August 23. 

Directed by Dublin filmmaker Ivan Kavanagh (The Canal), Never Grow Old is set on the California trail during the 1849 Gold Rush.

It tells the story of an Irish undertaker, Patrick Tate (Hirsch), who is in high demand when outlaws take over his town.

Never Grow Old is in cinemas from Friday, August 23

But when Tate's family is threatened he must take a stand.  

Never Grow Old will be the closing film at this year's Galway Film Fleadh on Sunday, July 14.
