X-Men and Westworld star James Marsden is to play the lead role in the much-anticipated TV adaptation of Stephen King's classic post-apocalyptic book The Stand.
Entertainment industry website Deadline reports that Marsden is teaming up with The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone for the nine-episode limited series for CBS Studios/CBS All Access in the US.
Marsden will play Stu Redman, a Texan with immunity to the superflu that wipes out 99% of the world's population, and who later becomes the leader of an epic fight between good and evil.
