All five original members of the Spice Girls - including Victoria Beckham - will voice themselves in a planned animated movie which will feature original and new songs from the band.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the movie, due for release in 2020, will be made by Paramount Pictures and produced by 90s music mogul Simon Fuller. Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith, whose credits include The House Bunny and Legally Blonde, are said to be writing the script.
Mireille Soria, Paramount Animation president, told the Hollywood Reporter that the band "had an idea that we’ve been developing. They are very involved."
The Spice Girls - Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton - kicked off their reunion tour in May with a gig at Croke Park and are due to play three dates at Wembley Stadium in London over the next few days.
This isn’t the first time the band have had their own movie. 1997's live action comedy Spice World took $151m at the global box office and $100m in DVD sales despite a critical drubbing.
