English pop rock band Keane have announced new Irish dates and details of their new album.

The four piece play The Waterfront, Belfast on October 7 and The Olympia Theatre, Dublin on October 8, with their new album Cause and Effect out on September 20.

Tickets for the shows are priced from €39.90 including booking fee go on sale on Friday June 14 at 10.00am.

Cause and Effect is released on September 20, with new track The Way I Feel out now. Written by Keane and produced by David Kosten and the band themselves, the bands’ fifth album features 11 new songs recorded in London and Sussex.

According to a statement from the band’s label, Island Records, the album came as something of a surprise even to the band. Singer Tom Chaplin, who had released two successful solo albums, says he had missed his old sparring partner Tim Rice-Oxley.

"I found myself wondering how I had come to let this very enigmatic and important relationship in my life drift," he says.

The video for new single The Way I Feel was directed by former 10cc drummer Kevin Godley, who previously directed the video for the band’s hit single Is It Any Wonder and Tom’s solo release Still Waiting, as well as making promos for U2, Hozier and Gavin Friday.

The track listing for Cause and Effect is: You’re Not Home, Love Too Much, The Way I Feel, Put The Radio On, Strange Room, Stupid Things, Phases, I’m Not Leaving, Thread, Chase The Night Away, I Need Your Love
