Just weeks after a sixth season was ordered, CBS has announced that the next run of Madam Secretary will also be its last.
The political drama stars Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, a former CIA analyst and political science professor turned Secretary of State. Tim Daly co-stars as Henry McCord, Elizabeth's husband and CIA honcho.
Kelly Kahl said that the ten-episode sixth season "will tie up the storyline". She added: "We liked to be able to do this, to send show the off with a great deal of respect and celebration."
Madam Secretary currently runs on Sky Witness and NOW TV, and Thursday night's episode is the season five finale, where Elizabeth McCord is about to make some big news.
