The film Love, Simon which is based on the book Simon Vs.The Homo Sapiens Agenda, is to be made into a TV series.

Disney's new soon-to-launched streaming platform Disney + will air the series, with the screenwriters of the original film Love,Simon writing the TV series, which is expected to feature a whole new cast. 

Love, Simon is a teen film about a secret gay relationship among two teenage boys, who nobody knows are gay. In fact, neither of them know who the other is, as their relationship is all based online.

The 2018 film adaptation of the book, which had a budget of $17m, went on to make $66.3m worldwide at the box office.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the new TV adaptation is just one of many planned series for Disney+.

There will also be "Marvel and Star Wars live-action dramas; the dramedy High Fidelity starring Zoe Kravitz; a new take on High School Musical; the Disney-themed entry Book of Enchantment; and Diary of a Female President."

Disney + is expected to start streaming in the US at the end of the year. It has not been confirmed yet when it will start streaming in Ireland.
