Viewers can see more of Zac Efron's transformation into Ted Bundy in the new trailer for the upcoming Netflix film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile.

The American actor plays the notorious serial killer in the biographical drama which is based on the memoirs of Bundy's former girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer.

The 31-year-old actor appeared in the film's first trailer in January and now viewers have a chance to see more of his highly-anticipated performance.

The new trailer sees Lily Collins' Kloepfer ask Bundy in jail :"Ted, did you do it?"

A stony-faced Efron replies: "No."

Directed by Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger, the film is set in Seattle in 1969 when Bundy and Kloepfer first met. It shows the couple living a seemingly normal life, while Bundy is secretly carrying out horrific murders.

Kloepfer initially denied accusations against her partner but eventually alerted police to his suspicious behaviour and turned him in to authorities.

Bundy, who was described as handsome and charismatic, was executed in 1989 after being convicted of killing a 12-year-old and two Florida State University sorority sisters.

Before his death he confessed to killing more than 30 women in the 1970s but the true number of his victims is still unknown and could possibly be much higher.

Zac Efron's performance as Ted Bundy has been lauded

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile earned positive reviews following its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, with Efron's performance lauded.

It will start streaming on Netflix on May 3.
