Mick Jagger’s Rolling Stone band-mates have given their affectionate support to the 75-year-old singer after he announced he was withdrawing from a tour of the US and Canada due to an undisclosed medical problem.

The singer has been told he needs medical treatment and the legendary rocker is expected to make a full recovery back to health.

Guitarist Keith Richards tweeted: "A big disappointment for everyone but things need to be taken care of and we will see you soon. Mick, we are always there for you!"

Fellow Stones' guitarist Ronnie Wood also wished Mick well in a tweet and thanked fans for messages. "We’ll miss you over the next few weeks, but we’re looking forward to seeing you all again very soon. Here’s to Mick – thanks for your supportive messages it means to much to us."

The band were scheduled to begin the US and Canada leg of their No Filter tour in Miami, Florida on April 20, with a final date in Ontario, Canada, on June 29.
