It is reported that "a low-level opportunistic theft" took place on a Coronation Street set while the cast and crew were filming a heist scene for the ITV soap.
The Press Association was told that the cast and crew were not on the set at the time.
An ITV spokesperson said: "We can confirm a small domestic generator was stolen during a low-level opportunistic theft from the unit base of filming today [Friday] for Coronation Street whilst the crew were on location in Bolton.
"The programme's cast and crew weren't at the unit base at the time.
"The incident was reported to the police and filming wasn't affected."
Coronation Street airs on Virgin Media One and ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
