Catherine Fulvio has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for her six-part series A Taste of Ireland.

The Irish chef, TV presenter and food writer was included in the Outstanding Culinary Host category when the shortlist was announced in the US on Wednesday.

A Taste of Ireland was screened on the US channel, Recipe TV. The other nominees in the category are Giada de Laurentiis, Molly Yeh and Valerie Bertinelli (for Food Network shows), and Pati Jinich (Pati’s Mexican Table).

"Whohoo!! bit of news to share..... I’ve been nominated a @DaytimeEmmys and I’m in great company", she wrote on Twitter.

Later she added: "Thank you @DaytimeEmmys I’m honoured to be in the company of such talented Culinary Hosts. See you all in May".

The Daytime Emmys are presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, for work screened between the hours of 2am and 6pm. The awards will be presented on May 5 in Pasadena, California.

Fulvio, who runs Ballyknockan Farmhouse and Cookery School near Blessington in Wicklow, also presents the RTÉ series A Taste of Home and is a co-presenter on Lords and Ladles, alongside  Paul Flynn and Derry Clarke.

She's also a long-time contributor to the RTÉ Guide.
