Following the sudden death of front man Keith Flint, The Prodigy have cancelled all of their upcoming gigs and festival appearances.

49-year-old Flint was found dead at his Essex home on Monday.

The remaining members of the group took to Twitter to announce the cancellation of this summer’s gigs, simply stating: "Following the tragic death of Keith Flint all forthcoming Prodigy shows will be cancelled with immediate effect."

The Prodigy had been due to go on tour in the USA and perform at various festivals around the world, with a headline slot at London event SW4 set to take place in August.

The line-up for Glastonbury 2019 has yet to be announced, but posting on Instagram in the wake of Keith Flint’s death, organiser Emily Eavis revealed that they had been booked to perform this summer.

"We are so saddened to hear the news about the passing of Keith Flint," she wrote on Instagram. "He’s played here so many times over the years with the Prodigy and was booked to play this year. "What an incredible frontman, he gave us all so much life and energy.

"Here’s a clip from ’97 when they became the first dance band to headline Glastonbury - a huge moment for us which we will never forget."
