Kate Beckinsale was taken to hospital after "passing out" on the set of her forthcoming TV series The Widow in South Africa.
The eight-episode drama is co-produced by Amazon and ITV and follows the story of Georgia Wells (Beckinsale) who has "cut herself off from her previous life and is no longer the woman she once was.
"When she spots the husband she thought was dead on the news, she is pulled back to face the world and will stop at nothing until she gets the truth about her past."
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, the 45-year-old actress revealed she "keeled over" on set due to the warm climate.
''It was incredibly hot - so hot that I ended up getting taken to the hospital one day for passing out," she said.
''I just keeled over into this very nice, huge actor, which was lucky. Friend for life!''
Beckinsale, who stars alongside Black Mirror star Babs Olusanmokun and Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance in the thriller series, revealed she did get to have some fun on safari during her break from filming.
''I brushed a lion with a hairbrush at one point; he was chilling," she said.
Last month, the Underworld star was hospitalised after suffering a ruptured ovarian cyst.
The actress shared a picture of herself in a hospital bed on Instagram. "Turns out a ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts and morphine makes me cry, " she wrote. "So thankful to everyone who looked after me #wobbly."
